The VRIZZ 2 is VOOPOO's latest high-capacity beginner-friendly pod vape. The name definitely isn't aimed at middle-aged people like myself, but setting that aside, the idea behind this device is simple: it's meant to be a reusable alternative to disposables. Disposables are convenient and popular, but they're expensive and create a lot of waste, so devices like the VRIZZ 2 aim to provide a familiar experience at a lower cost—both financially and environmentally.
With the VRIZZ 2, you get a large 1350 mAh battery and a 15 mL juice capacity, so you can carry it all day without refilling or recharging. It's also an upgrade over the original VRIZZ, which had only an 800 mAh battery. The body is similar to a disposable in shape and feel, except you can replace the pods when the coils die. Some color options add a bit of leather, which gives it a small touch of style without trying to be a premium device.
That's the gist of it, so let's jump into the details.
Colors: White leather, black leather, blue leather, pink leather, onyx black, azure, sunset purple, sunrise green
They only sent me one unit to try—the black leather one, which is completely black with black leather on it. It has a gold-stamped "made by VOOPOO" logo, the VRIZZ logo, and "VRIZZ 2" etched into the back of the leather.
The design is very simple; it's just a one-piece body device. It has a large juice window, so you can see your juice level, which I really like. It's not going to be as small as something like a VAPORESSO ECO NANO, but it's roughly the same size as a lot of disposables and should easily fit in your pocket. Obviously, with a large juice capacity and a large battery, you's not going to have a tiny device. There is also a clip for a lanyard if you want to wear it around your neck.
On the front of the device, you'll have your color screen, which is huge. It's bright, clear, and it looks great. The button lets you cycle through the modes, which are Eco, Normal, and Turbo. The device is inhale-to-fire only, so you don't need to turn it on or off.
On the bottom, you'll have a USB-C charging port and an airflow slider. The slider moves very well, it's smooth, and it has eight tiny air holes. Personally, I like it fully open, but if you like a tighter draw, you can close it down.
Overall, it's a very basic and simple device that's not made to be fancy or stand out, but to serve a purpose.
All right, let's talk about how to set up this device.
The pod is magnetic—you just pull the drip tip to remove it from the battery. At the bottom, you'll see a large plug covering the filling hole—just unplug it and use your bottle to fill.
Capacity is listed at 15 mL, but I think it falls short of that. Using a new bottle and filling it twice, I still had about 5 or 6 mL left. When I used a syringe to fill it, at about 12 mL, it started pushing juice out through the coil. So I think it's more like 13 mL. Still huge and more than enough for everyday use, but not the full 15 mL. Personally, I'd have liked to finish a whole 30 mL bottle in two fills.
You can press the button on the device to change your mode. Eco fires one coil at a time and rotates between the two coils to extend life. Normal fires both coils at a low wattage. Turbo fires both at a higher wattage.
Since it's an inhale-to-fire device, there's really not much else to learn. Once it's filled and you wait 10 minutes for the juice to soak into the cotton, you're good to go.
The device comes with one cartridge only. I wish it had a spare, so I'll ding them on that.
The included cartridge is the VRIZZ Cartridge V2 dual mesh. It has two coils in it, a 0.7 and a 0.4 ohm. The other available options are a single 0.7-ohm and a single 0.4-ohm cartridge.
They recommend using nicotine salts with a strength of 50 mg or less. I personally use 20–25 mg nic salts in my devices.
They say you can get four fill-ups before it burns out. I was able to vape through four, and my coil was still good, so I'm happy with that. At least two bottles of juice before replacing the coil is very solid.
Flavor was good, vapor output was good, and I have zero complaints. It's basically a better version of disposable vapes. It performs on par with the best of them, but it's cheaper long-term, since you can reuse your juice and buy coil replacements instead of new devices.
Overall, very happy with the performance and I think VOOPOO did an excellent job.
VOOPOO lists the capacity at 1350 mAh and the charging rate at 1.2 A. You don't normally see 1.2 A listed; usually, companies round to 1 A or 1.5 A. I think they listed 1.2 A to highlight that it's upgraded from the original VRIZZ, which had an 800 mAh battery and 1 A charging.
When I tested charging, I got 5 volts and 1.07 amp. So a little over 1 amp, but personally I'd have rated it 1 A instead of 1.2 A.
As for the battery, you usually get about 80% usable, which would be around 1080 mAh. I measured 1028 mAh, which is slightly under, but still reasonable. I expected 80%, and I got 76%, so the battery is slightly overrated. A 1300 mAh label would have been more accurate.
Realistically, you'll get the battery life of a 1300 mAh device. Slight overrating, but nothing concerning.
So what's the final verdict? I think it's an easy one: it's a great device.
If you currently buy disposables, get one of these instead. If you're looking to get into vaping, or just want an affordable device you can carry every day without worrying about charging or refilling, this fits that niche really well. It's easy to use, has a huge pod capacity, and the battery life will easily get you through the day.
Devices like this make vaping accessible while cutting down the costs, and that makes me really happy. Two thumbs up!
